Product Description:
The e2gStats Basic app provides an integrated collection of statistical data analysis methods supporting course work
and research activity in the social sciences, including business and education. The app and its
documentation emphasize statistical analysis of data gathered through questionnaires.
To see if the software meets your needs, you are invited to examine the documentation files
that are embedded in the app, then experiment with the
Amazon Test Drive:
Twenty one statistics methods, grouped into five analysis objectives, are supported:
DESCRIPTIVE STATISTICS: Frequency tables, Histograms, Pie Charts, Scatter Plots, Sample Statistics (Mean, Standard Deviation, Range, Median)
HYPOTHESIS TESTING: Single Mean Test, Paired Means Test, Single Proportion Test, Single Variance Test, Two Means Test, Two Variances Test
CORRELATION, REGRESSION, MULTIVARIATE ANALYSIS: Correlation Matrix, Regression Analysis (including Simple Regression and Interactive Stepwise Multiple Regression) and
Principal Component Analysis
ANALYSIS OF VARIANCE: One-Way ANOVA, Two-Way (balanced design) ANOVA
NONPARAMETRIC STATISTICS: Sign Test, Paired Sign Test, Rank Correlation, Kruskal-Wallis One-Way ANOVA, Contingency Table Analysis
Two data editors are included. The first presents the data in a grid format similar to a spreadsheet.
The second is a simple, free format editor. Both editors support entry of small data sets and
modification of data files created by the editors or imported from other software.
The data format for both editors is comma separated values (CSV), so spreadsheets and database managers that
export .csv files may also be used for data preparation, or input data may be created with a text editor.
These externally prepared data files may be downloaded from the Internet or e-mailed to the Android device
where they are stored on the sd card. An auxiliary file automatically created by e2gStats Basic stores
optional data file subset definitions, the missing value definition and a data file description.
A computational capability allows calculation of new variable values, and variables may be added
to or deleted from the data file.
Output from each data analysis method is formatted as a Web page, and a share button
allows this output to be e-mailed as an attachment by e-mail programs installed on the Android device.
This feature provides a mechanism for printing analysis results or sharing them with others.
The help system provides three forms of documentation, accessible at any time from a tab.
These include help on running the software, a terminology reference document and a mini-course
that provides a scenario based example of each of the twenty analysis methods. Each help document
offers context-sensitive support for the current analysis or data manipulation activity at the touch of a button.
Two sample data files are automatically installed with the app. These files support the mini-course
scenarios and allow immediate experimentation with the software.
