Criteria to consider for selecting the expert whose expertise you will encode (continued): |
 |
You'd like an expert who is a good communicator.
Your expert doesn't have to be a great orator, but does need to be able to
communicate with you informally over extended periods of time. You will
have to interview the expert one-on-one to extract the knowledge that will
be encoded in the knowledge base.
|
 |
It's a plus if your expert is good at identifying
sources of expertise to extend his or her existing expertise.
Many knowledge bases are going to be dynamic, requiring updates as
the state of knowledge evolves. It will be helpful if you can get
some insights into how the expert continues to learn about the problem
domain. |
|
Once your human expert and other forms of
expertise are identified and available, you are ready to begin creating the
knowledge base. |
